About Me
Hi, my name is Sam. I was born and raised in the West Coast of Scotland, in a small town less than an hour away from Glasgow city centre.
In 2026, my work was published internationally in a fashion editorial through the Kavyar platform, marking an important milestone in my photography career.

Photography has always been a huge part of my life.
Since being given my first 35mm film camera when I was a child and just taking photos of almost everything I saw. At that age I think there were more blank photos than properly exposed ones. My grandparents always got my film developed and kept the majority of them until they passed away and I got them back.
After a few years I bought my first digital camera, which was a Nikon coolpix point and shoot camera. It did the job and kept my love and passion for photography alive. At college, I actually studied Graphic Design and New Media (it included a little bit of photography which kept my love for it in the front of my mind). I think it has helped me understand what is needed for an image to work, especially in print media and online.
It wasn’t until Christmas 2015 that I received my first ever DSLR Camera, a Nikon D3300 (which I still use to this day). This camera was gifted to me by my parents because they knew how much I loved taking photographs, recording moments in time and wanted to create a career out of this skill.
After a few months of testing my new camera I knew that I needed to get some training to get the best out of my camera, and that’s when I started my Diploma through the Institute of Photography in May 2016, which I completed in 2020 just before the pandemic hit.
Now that I’ve gotten more confident in my ability to capture beautiful images through building my portfolio, I decided to start my photography business. So the question is why did I choose fashion photography? Well, to be honest this niche of photography really caught my attention creatively. I used to look at billboards and magazines and think that I’d love to see one of my images up there on a billboard or in a popular magazine. Creatively speaking this niche is open to so many ideas and I love that, so I want to use that creative freedom to help other peoples creativeness be seen.
